John Stephens is a well established Musical Director and teacher. His experience is varied and includes teaching privately at home, teaching in schools, leading weekend workshops, training church choirs and working with casts a as a Musical Director for professional and amateur theatre companies. As a pianist John is an experienced Ballet Examination pianist and plays for ISTD and RAD exams.

As a performer John is an experienced organist, pianist and vocalist. He also plays with many local orchestras, including the UEASO, as a bassoonist. His engagements as a Musical Director have required him to be proficient in both leading from the piano and with a baton. In his role as an MD, John has worked in France, New York and the National Theatre in Nairobi, Kenya.

He is Organist & Choirmaster of St Nicholas Parish Church, Great Yarmouth, Conductor for the Great Yarmouth Choral Society, secretary for the Great Yarmouth Schools' Music Association, a member of Equity, a member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians), teacher of voice, piano/organ & double reeds at Langley School, and an Associate Tutor at the University of East Anglia. He holds a MMus degree in Conducting, a BA(Hons) degree in Music and the Associate of Trinity College London diploma as a pianist.
